Samantha Bennish: Cultivating Confidence and Curiosity in Every Child
Samantha Bennish inspires preschoolers to explore, create, and grow in a classroom where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Samantha Bennish’s passion for education comes from a genuine love of helping children grow. Starting as a lifeguard in high school and later volunteering in a kindergarten classroom, she discovered the joy of seeing kids light up when they understood something new. At Steeple Kids Childcare, Samantha brings that same excitement to her preschoolers, making learning hands-on, playful, and full of curiosity. She creates a space where every child feels safe to explore, ask questions, and build the confidence to try again.

Inspiring a Love of Learning from the Start
Samantha’s passion for education comes from a genuine love of helping children grow. “I really just love working with kids. I think they’re little sponges that you can mold with new information,” she says. Starting as a lifeguard in high school and later volunteering in a kindergarten classroom, she discovered the joy of seeing children light up when they understood something new. At Steeple Kids, Samantha brings that same excitement to her preschoolers, making learning hands-on, playful, and full of curiosity. “I pride myself on every day, the children are going home and they’re learning something new—it’s so exciting to see their enthusiasm.”
Building Emotional and Social Skills
For Samantha, teaching goes beyond academics. She prioritizes emotional well-being, encouraging students to express their feelings and develop empathy for others. “I love to tell my kids, ‘You have a voice. You can use your big kid voice and let your friends know how you feel, and they’ll listen to you. I promise,’” she explains. Through daily responsibilities like line leader or snack helper, children practice independence while understanding the value of contributing to the classroom community.
Encouraging Creativity and Exploration
Creativity and innovation are central to Samantha’s classroom. She integrates engaging, hands-on activities that turn lessons into adventures, encouraging children to explore, ask questions, and think critically. Read-alouds become lively experiences that cultivate a love of stories and spark imagination, while games, art projects, and collaborative exercises give students the chance to experiment and express themselves freely.
Partnering with Families for Growth
Samantha sees education as a partnership with families. “I love to sit down with parents and collab with them on Pinterest. I have a board of fun, interactive activities for the whole family,” she shares. She stays connected through weekly emails and conferences, ensuring learning continues at home in meaningful ways. By collaborating closely with parents and school staff, Samantha advocates for students who need extra support, helping provide tools and guidance to ensure every child thrives.
Celebrating Every Milestone
From helping a non-verbal child learn basic sign language to seeing preschoolers gain confidence and independence, Samantha finds pride in every breakthrough. “One of my first students barely talked when they started, but teaching them sign language and seeing them grow was so rewarding. I think about them all the time,” she recalls. Each achievement reinforces her belief that teaching is about shaping young minds, nurturing potential, and helping children see their own abilities.
Shaping the Future, One Child at a Time
Samantha continues to explore new opportunities for growth in her field. “I love this age, and now I want to see what I can do with older kids too,” she says. By fostering curiosity, resilience, and kindness, she leaves a lasting impact on every child, inspiring them to love learning and believe in themselves.
