Music Classes

Introduce you little one to the fun of listening, dancing, and making music. These groups introduce singing, rhythm, beats, and storytelling. Plus it’s a social outing for baby and mom.

Early Childhood Class

Nook Nook Music School, 4059 Skyron Drive, Doylestown

Miss Melissa teaches kiddos and parents how to catch a beat in her “Aardvarks” class for little learners. The eight-week sessions welcome children aged six months to four years for sing-alongs and instrumental play. Classes also feature original tunes. What’s more, this class happens near MOMS Club of Doylestown West, so you can make it a full day of village-building with your youngster.

The Little Music Corner

Playpad Bucks, 860 Town Center Drive, Langhorne

Miss Sally has nabbed a best-of award from the Bucks Happening List for four years running. It’s obvious why her class is considered one of the best for Bucks County babies — just ask anyone who’s attended. Parents and their little ones love her 45-minute classes filled with dancing, singing, and storytelling. She offers sessions geared specifically toward infants, as well as events for older kids, and mixed ages.

Miss Kathy hosts bi-weekly classes that combine kid-appropriate versions of modern pop songs and classic smashes like ‘“Twinkle Twinkle.” Classes are designed to get babies ready for preschool by encouraging creativity, curiosity, and direction-following. “It’s truly our favorite family activity,” says one parent of the Mommy and Me classes at New Groove.

Gymnastics and Yoga Classes

Start you little one moving and learning new gross motor skills in a fun and social setting. Some locations offer classes for babies as young as eight weeks.

You and Me Toddler Classes

Boing Gymnastics Center, 127 South Third Street, Suite 3, Perkasie

Boing Gymnastics has long been a hub for parents in the Perkasie community. Its upbeat staff guides kiddos to get active as they gather new skills. The You and Me Toddler classes help new walkers get their footing on more than just flat ground (think trampolines). Parents accompany their little ones as they explore apparatus like the balance beam and the tumbling mat, all under the guidance of a seasoned teacher.

Parent and Tyke Classes

Power and Grace Gymnastics and Dance, 122 Pacific Drive, Quakertown

The Parent and Tyke classes at Quakertown’s Power and Grace help kids build gross motor skills in a structured way. The instructor leads the first half of class — take your little one’s hand and help them try tumbling and twirling on the mat. Then, in the second half of class, enjoy some free time to explore the studio at your own pace.

At the Hand-N-Hand gymnastics classes, your child will become stronger and more agile with the help of specially sized props and equipment. The Jamison studio, one of many popular Bucks County gyms for kids, invites kids as young as 15 months to come and explore with a guardian. The up-tempo classes foster strength and balance through play.

Gnome and Me Classes

The Yoga Gnome, 350 South Main Street, Suite 109, Doylestown

Yoga Gnome works exclusively with tots and their parents, often hosting pop-up yoga events at libraries around the area. Its in-studio Gnome and Me classes start with newborns (as young as eight weeks). They combine music, imagination, and gentle stretches with the tenets of yoga in a fun way, making it one of the top things to do with babies in Bucks County. If you’re looking for even more support with your newborn, these local breastfeeding resources may also be helpful.

Swim Classes

Swim and splash classes in Bucks County get kids as young as six months in the water. Parents can get in the water, too and join sessions that involve floating, games, singing, and basic skills.

Mini Swim Sessions

Goldfish Swim School, 1661 Easton Road, Warrington

Want to ensure your little one is comfortable in the water from a very young age? The Mini 1 sessions at Goldfish Swim School start with children as young as four months. Slip into the pool with your little fish and let him or her get acclimated to the water. In these early sessions, little ones build on safety skills and actual swimming techniques. No previous swimming experience is required for kids.

Water Discovery Classes at the YMCA

Multiple locations

YMCA Water Discovery classes are geared specifically toward infants, starting at six months. These parent-child introductory sessions consist of games, singing, and practicing basic skills appropriate for young children. Parents get in the pool, too, so it’s one of the best activities for new moms in Bucks County. Check for classes at the Quakertown and Doylestown YMCAs, which have indoor pools.

Baby Blue Classes

Big Blue Swim School, 804 West Street Road, Warminster

Warminster’s Big Blue Swim School invites swimmers as young as three months to grow their “splash zone” with a caregiver at their side. The Splash Zone refers to how far a child can swim unassisted. By the time a child is ready to advance from Baby Blue sessions to Bright Blue lessons, their Splash Zone is at least three feet. That’s thanks to caring instructors who strategically build their skills, one back float at a time.
