Unique Summer Date Nights

Get out of the date night rut with these unique and exciting summer ideas.

Once you become a parent, planning a fun date night (or day) with your significant other can sometimes have its challenges. First there’s actually finding the time and making it a priority. Then you have to find and book a sitter (we’re looking at you, Nanna). And then there’s the age old question of what to do. And while we all know how great (and tempting) it can be to just Netflix and chill, we also know how important it is to come up with unique date nights to keep things feeling new and exciting.

Which is why we’ve gathered some of the best unique summer date night ideas Bucks County has to offer. From paintball to wine trails, we’ve got just what you need to keep your summer date nights hot (and your date days cool!).

Try Something New Together

Few things are more fun than trying something new with someone you love and laughing at all your missteps along the way. In fact sometimes, the worse you are at something the more fun you have. So don’t let anything dissuade you from trying out one of these fun date night experiences. We promise you won’t be sorry.

Get out your dancing shoes– Have a blast learning to dance with a private couples class at Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Doylestown, FG Dance Academy in Norristown, or La Luna Dance Studio in Bristol. Two left feet? No problem. We promise, no one will laugh at you–well, at least not the instructors. And if you end up really cutting a rug, consider joining one of their weekly classes where they cover a range of different styles.

Step out of your comfort zone– Bucks County offers plenty of outdoor fun for thrill-seeking couples. Push yourself (and your partner) to new heights at TreeTrails Adventures in Trevose, an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. There’s paintball with Crusader Paintball in Langhorne and Outdoor Xtreme in Hatfield, and for rainy days, there’s Jumpin’ GellyBall of Bucks County , an indoor venue at the Oxford Valley Mall. They use GellyBall Blasters which shoot a softer ball made of gel so you don’t have to worry about any post-paintball black and blues.

Been there done that? Take it up a notch with the Aerial Adventure Park at Hellericks Farm—an experience that is sure to challenge you and your loved one both physically and mentally. Not a fan of heights? They have a good old fashioned obstacle course as well as goat yoga to keep you grounded in more ways than one.

Try a couple’s cooking classConquering Cuisine, Shelley’s Table and Ash Chase Culinary all offer unique culinary experiences under the instruction of world-class chefs. For all the carb-lovers out there, definitely check out Vituperio Artisan Breads & Studios. Their class selection ranges from pizza to croissants and all the delicious, bready-goodness in between.

How about axe throwing?! – Enjoy a little friendly competition with a night of axe throwing at one of these great locations. Stumpy’s Hatchet House in Bristol is a small-ish local spot with 12 throwing pits and giant games. Similarly, Bury the Hatchet offers an exciting experience in all of their several locations including Bensalem, Horsham, and Philadelphia.  Both venues are BYO food and beverage so be sure to plan ahead. This is an especially fun idea for double dates and groups.

Get creative (and probably messy)– Check out one of the classes and workshops offered at one of Bucks County’s many crafty, diy venues. Some of our favorites are Makers Off Main, Board and Brush, and Painting with a Twist.

Don’t mind getting a little messier? Look no further than a Splatter date at Pinspiration Montgomeryville. Packages include one large or two small canvases with private Splatter Room; a glow upgrade for two, chocolates for two and two glasses of champagne. Have a blast and bring home a masterpiece when you’re done!
