Bucks County families don’t have to go far for a spooky-fun Halloween outing this year. THE ADDAMS FAMILY: The Musical opens at Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia this September. It’s an easy day trip or evening drive for a fun, family-friendly show. Pair it with dinner in Center City, and you’ve got a whole outing planned.

Frightfully Fun Family Entertainment

The musical centers on Wednesday Addams, all grown up and in love with a “normal” boy from a respectable family. She swears her father, Gomez, to secrecy, and things get delightfully messy once both families finally sit down to dinner together. Underneath the jokes and theatrics, it’s really a story about loving your family exactly as it is – a great message for kids and parents to enjoy together. The show’s kooky humor and quirky charm has been part of the Addams Family since cartoonist Charles Addams first conjured them up back in 1938

Tickets are available at WalnutStreetTheatre.org, through Ticketmaster.com, or by calling 215-574-3550.

A Week of Halloween-Themed Shows

The theater is dedicating an entire week to Halloween-themed evening performances. Families on a budget should look at Kids Night on Thursday, October 29.
