“I Can Do This” provides resources that support children, particularly children with special needs, learn through play. This includes preparing for new experiences (such as going to the dentist, or getting a haircut), as well as targeting language milestones, fine motor milestones, and pre-academic skills through play, art and music. The mission of “I Can Do This” is to help children gain confidence and reduce anxiety, to enable them to participate fully in new activities.

Elyse provided a training at Wild Styles Hair Salon in January 2026 to educate staff about a variety of childhood disorders, and ways to work with the children/families to reduce stress and anxiety about getting a haircut. The training was very hands on and helpful to try a new/different approach with children while getting a haircut.
