Caring for Our Community: NOVA’s 50 Years of Supporting Crime Victims and Families

Get to know and support NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim services agency, and a beacon of hope and healing for the past 50 years.

Imagine a world where no one had to suffer the trauma of sexual assault or other devastating crimes. For the past 50 years, NOVA has been working tirelessly to make that vision a reality for those living and working in Bucks County.

As the county’s comprehensive crime victim services provider, NOVA provides free essential services to victims and survivors of sexual assault and other crimes. Just by picking up the phone, a person in crisis can access NOVA’s helpline and receive immediate, trauma-informed support, from medical care to legal advocacy and counseling. But NOVA’s reach extends far beyond direct client services.

Community-Wide Prevention and Education for Healthy Relationships

On a community level, NOVA’s prevention education efforts have been a steady presence in local schools, businesses, and faith communities. Through training and education programs, NOVA teaches critical skills for building healthy relationships, respecting boundaries, and thinking critically about issues of violence. This proactive approach aims to stop harm before it occurs, protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities.

The Children’s Advocacy Center: A Safe Haven for At-Risk Youth

In 2010, the organization opened the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), a nationally accredited resource providing specialized services in a safe, child-friendly environment. The CAC protects the interests of children by facilitating a coordinated, child-centered response to child abuse reports and by promoting the rights and needs of at-risk and abused children.
