If you can’t indulge your wanderlust this spring break and are staying local, then come join any of these sessions curated and explore how spring is celebrated around the world. two-hour craft sessions are offered in the afternoon from Monday March 25th through Wednesday March 27th.
Ideal age for these activities is between 4-8, but open to older children if interested. Parents/Gaurdians are welcome to stay in the event space or grab a coffee! Those who know the space, the Mainstreet Marketplace building houses Spuntino’s, Hops/Scotch, Pennsylvania Soup and Seafood house and other shops. A perfect way to pair a playdate w/ your own date with friends/significant others! Group sizes will be restricted so text (908) 787-2230 to reserve your spot. All the materials for the crafts will be provided. Parents are encouraged to bring their child’s water bottles. Food will not be served.
Children will be doing 3 crafts per session:
1) Holi Hands: Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors celebrates the arrival of spring celebrated in India, and color play is one of the traditions. Participants are drenched in colors head to toe, and we’ll be using colorful air clay to capture your little one’s handprint!
2) Easter: While it is celebrated around the world with varying customs and ceremonies, the Easter Egg Hunt is beloved to the kids in the USA, and we’ll be focusing on games and activities revolving around Easter Eggs.
3) Paint n Plant: Several festivals around the world such as the Floriade celebrated in Australia, entail a grand display of exotic flowers to welcome spring! We’ll be painting ceramic pots, and planting our own spring flowers/seeds for this activity!
While all sessions will have these three common crafts, each session will have a unique activity to incorporate customs from other cultures such as the Spring Equinox in Teotihuacan (Mexico), Nowruz (Central Asia), and Songkran Water Festival (Thailand).
