Pennridge School District’s Serve-A-Friend Program
January 15
Martin Luther King Day, often abbreviated as MLK Day, is a federal holiday in the United States that honors the civil rights leader and activist, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, close to Dr. King’s birthday on January 15th. The holiday serves as a time for reflection, community service, and the celebration of Dr. King’s contributions to the civil rights movement.
This year, the Pennridge School District is beginning a new initiative dedicated to serving our community called, “Serve-A-Friend.” The hope is that “Serve-A-Friend” will grow yearly and become a traditional nexus between the Pennridge community. The Director of Communications and Community Relations, David Thomas, is looking for organizations, groups, and even community programs that are looking for volunteers to provide community service on January 15, 2024.
