Ways to Celebrate MLK Day
Each year since its creation, millions of Americans honor Martin Luther King, Jr.’s work by coming together for a national day of service, as well as dialogue around the late civil rights leader’s birthday (January 15). MLK Day Service Events in Bucks County

Day of Service for All Ages at Abington Library
1030 Old York Road, Abington
Abington Township Public Library invites the community to honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through a day of service that offers hands‑on volunteer projects for all ages. This event includes making cards for hospital patients, creating coloring sheets for Color-a-Smile, and assembling lunch bags for Meals on Wheels. Additionally, the library welcomes art supply donations for CHOP patients and encourages guests to ship items to the library or bring them to the event.
Day of Giving at The Yoga Gnome
350 S. Main Street, #109, Doylestown
The Yoga Gnome’s Day of Giving returns for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. They invite students in 1st grade and up to explore Dr. King’s vision of equality through vision board design, SMART goal-setting, reflective yoga, and assembling breakfast bags for the Doylestown Food Pantry. The event is free, however, organizers ask participants to sign up for items to bring in the breakfast bags. Additionally, this drop‑off program runs Monday, January 19, from 10 am to noon.
MLK Day of Service at Tyler State Park
101 Swamp Road, Newtown
The community is invited to take part in a special Martin Luther King, Jr. Day cleanup at Tyler State Park, with volunteers gathering at the Tyler Center for the Arts to help care for the park’s natural spaces. Participants are encouraged to bring water, gloves, trash pickers, and sturdy footwear, while trash bags and additional supplies will be provided.
MLK Day of Service at Stony Creek Park
200 E. Hancock Street, Lansdale
Lansdale Parks & Recreation will host a community park cleanup on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, beginning at 9 am in the Stony Creek Park parking lot. Volunteers will be provided with gloves and trash bags and are asked to complete a waiver prior to participating.

MLK Teen Peace & Social Justice Summit 2026 at Bristol Boro High School

The 16th Annual Bucks & Montgomery Counties MLK Teen Peace & Social Justice Summit will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Bristol Boro High School. This event will offer students in grades 7–12 an afternoon of inspiration and community building. In addition, the program features an inspirational speaker, student‑led stories, refreshments, and resources designed to spark meaningful conversations around peace, justice, and nonviolent leadership.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration in Abington Township
1176 Old York Road, 2nd Floor, Abington
The Abington Township Human Relations Commission will present its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. Enjoy a performance by the Abington Choral Club and then help honor local leaders with Community Service Awards. Furthermore, attendees are invited to contribute new socks for The Everywhere Project through the Sox in the City initiative.
MLK Day at Please Touch Museum

Join the museum’s celebration of advocacy through confidence-building experiences in STEM, visual and performing arts, textiles, and music. Children and families will explore hands-on activities that empower them to use their voices, creativity, and curiosity to make a difference.

Bensalem Township invites the community to B3T Unity Week 2026, a three‑day celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This event features a breakfast followed by morning and evening gatherings at locations throughout Bensalem and Trevose. In addition, each program underscores unity and diversity within the community, with refreshments provided and reservations required for the opening breakfast.
