Videos: Resilience Stories from Bucks County Women of Influence
Three local women. Three stories of rising. Watch the 2025 Women of Influence Resilience Stories presented at Terrain DelVal in Doylestown.
At our October 2025 Women of Influence Luncheon at Terrain DelVal in Doylestown, three women took the stage to share talks that were anything but surface-level. Each one offered a different lens on resilience: what it demands of you, what it costs, and what it makes possible when you stop fighting the transformation and start leaning into it.
2025’s theme was The Power of Rising: Resilience Stories of Women of Influence and the talks delivered exactly that across three events — on the Main Line, in Bucks County, and in Philadelphia (visit our linked sister sites to watch them all). The Bucks County Women of Influence Luncheon gathered of 50 local women business, nonprofit, and community leaders. Watch the talks below.

Resilience Story #4: Successful Women of Influence Realign
Watch Dr. Melissa Lee Agawa’s talk, From Burnout to Breakthrough: Returning to Your Authentic Self.
Dr. Melissa Lee-Agawa has a question she wants every woman in the room to sit with: What is your superpower? Not your job title. Not your to-do list. Your actual superpower — the thing that is most essentially, irreducibly you.
Her talk explored what happens when we drift away from that core and what it takes to find our way back — not through dramatic reinvention, but through honest realignment with what we value most.
Dr. Lee-Agawa’s steps toward authentic realignment:
- Align your work with your deepest values — because that’s the only way to reclaim your authentic purpose.
- Reflect on your core strengths when facing setbacks or identity loss — they haven’t disappeared, you’ve just lost the thread.
- Pivot back to what matters most — even if it means normalizing taboo topics or taking unconventional paths.

“Ask yourself, what is your superpower? Now, lean into it.”

Resilience Story #5: Successful Women of Influence Champion
Watch Corina Jenkin’s talk, Be the Voice. Be the Community.
Corina Jenkins opened her talk with a truth that landed quietly in the room and stayed there: the community you’re longing for begins the moment you decide to be it for someone else.
Her message wasn’t about grand gestures. It was about the daily, sometimes inconvenient practice of saying someone’s name in a room they haven’t entered yet — and meaning it.
Corina’s framework for becoming the community you wish existed:
- Listen to your inner truth—when something no longer aligns, it’s not a failure to walk away, it’s an act of
- self-love.
- Rise through the quiet power of women who champion you—those who say your name in rooms you
haven’t entered yet. - Be the voice for others—advocate for their growth, celebrate their brilliance out loud, and connect them
to opportunity. - Stick your neck out when no one else will—because building the community you want starts by being
that community. - Your influence isn’t just what you say—it’s whose name you say, and how boldly you say it.

“Be the woman who celebrates other women out loud. Champion their brilliance, advocate for
their growth, connect them to meaningful opportunities. Speak their names in rooms they haven’t yet entered. It may not always be easy—but it’s always necessary. Because if you long for a community that shows up, you must first be the one who shows up.”– Corina Jenkins, Director of Admissions

Resilience Story #6: Successful Women of Influence Persist
Watch Sarah Bond’s talk, Build Your Village While You Build Your Vision.
Family Focus Media’s own founder closed out the Terrain DelVal luncheon with a talk that drew from fifteen years of building something from scratch — and every storm that came with it.
Sarah’s message pushed back gently on the myth of the self-made woman grinding it out alone. Sustainable success, she argued, isn’t built in isolation. It’s built relationship by relationship, in the small moments of trust and showing up that accumulate into something no crisis can fully undo.
Sarah’s principles for persisting with purpose:
- Recognize that persistence isn’t about grinding alone – sustainable success requires building a village
- of people who won’t give up on you
- Sometimes you have to scrap the plan, work the problem, and find the way – give yourself permission
to tear down what isn’t working - Choose courage over comfort, even when fear whispers that you don’t belong or the path feels
uncertain - Build your team with people who trust your vision and find joy in the work, creating systems that
leverage diverse voices and transferable skills

“Don’t ever give up – but don’t let fear make your decisions.
Little by little, build your village. One relationship at a time.”– Sarah Bond, Founder and CEO
