A Unique Journey to Orthodontic Marketing
With a background in architecture, Tia found herself thrust into the world of orthodontic marketing when her husband bought a practice from a dying doctor. “I had to learn marketing and community outreach on the fly,” Tia recalls. This challenge became the catalyst for a remarkable journey of community building and professional growth.
Community-Centric Approach
From day one, Tia and her husband decided to become community partners as a way to introduce themselves. This core value has guided their practice for the past decade. “I firmly believe that a rising tide lifts all ships,” Tia explains, emphasizing her commitment to collaboration over competition.
Her nominators echo this sentiment. Kathy Safi describes Tia as “an absolute pillar of our community,” noting her active support of local businesses and her role as a “tireless cheerleader for others.” Margot Bauer adds, “She’s always available to lend a helping hand herself or with her company.”
Impactful Community Initiatives
Under Tia’s influence, Bucks County Orthodontics has become known for its generosity in the community. The practice is involved in numerous initiatives, including:
- Scholarships for graduating seniors
- Donations to local food pantries
- Small business giveaways
- Contributions to various charitable organizations
Tia has also served on the board of the YMCA of Bucks County and the committee for the 9/11 Heroes Run in Doylestown. Her efforts extend to supporting organizations like Penn Athletics, iRun4Life, Coaches vs. Cancer, the Travis Manion Foundation, Bucks 5k Series, and Pine2Pink.
Empowering Women and Mothers
Tia is passionate about lifting up women, particularly working mothers. “Normalize that women can have it all, but perhaps not all at the same time,” she advocates. Her own life serves as an example, as she juggles her professional responsibilities with being a devoted mother and supportive partner.
Embracing Challenges and Growth
Tia’s willingness to take on new challenges can be seen through her diverse roles. From speaking as a Key Opinion Leader for LightForce and Angel Align to mentoring rooms of Treatment Coordinators and Doctors, she continually pushes herself to grow and learn.
A Vision for the Future
Tia aims to continue her upward trajectory in all her roles at Bucks County Orthodontics while expanding her international speaking engagements. She also aspires to plan a local community charity event. On a personal level, she hopes to be even more present for her family, continue working on her health goals, and explore new interests like pickleball or tennis.
Tia Maiolatesi Welsh’s professional excellence, tireless community engagement, and commitment to empowering others are undeniably impactful. As Kathy Safi puts it, “Her selflessness, dedication, and genuine kindness make her an ideal candidate for the 2024 Women of Influence Award.”
