The Family Focus Media Women of Influence Awards are designed to acknowledge and amplify the influence exceptional local women have in our Community, showcasing their accomplishments and encouraging others to follow their example. Through their efforts, these influencers have demonstrated the power to shape attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors on a large scale. 

Meet Stephanie 

Stephanie is Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for Comcast’s Freedom Region. Prior to joining Comcast, Stephanie was a partner at Duane Morris, LLP and before that, an attorney at WolfBlock. Stephanie has been awarded many legal accolades, including Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Top 50 Women Attorneys in Pennsylvania 2015 and 2016 and Super Lawyer 2014-2016. Stephanie values spending time with her family. She enjoys hiking, exploring, singing and tennis, among other hobbies. She is an active volleyball mom traveling the state with girls and can often be found working the snack bar at Marple Newtown High School during theater performances to support her budding actress.

She leads a talented team who support key advocacy and compliance initiatives in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware. Stephanie is responsible for Comcast’s regional community investment partnerships and programs through Project UP, Comcast’s $1 billion initiative to advance digital equity and help build a future of Unlimited Possibilities. This includes Comcast’s signature community investment program, Internet Essentials – the nation’s largest and most comprehensive Internet adoption program.

In the tri-state area, more than 2.27 million residents have been connected to the all the Internet has to offer through Internet Essentials since 2011. Under Stephanie’s leadership, Comcast’s Freedom Region Community Impact team provides hundreds of local nonprofit organizations working to advance digital equity with millions of dollars in cash and in-kind contributions each year for programing, technology, resources and more.

Hard Work and Giving Back

Stephanie joined Comcast in September of 2016 and oversees local government relations and community investment in New Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Northern Delaware, where she plays a key role in supporting key advocacy, compliance, and community initiatives on behalf of the region. Through Comcast’s network expansions, Stephanie is helping to bring high-speed and reliable Internet access to ensure residents and businesses from rural towns to “last mile” communities can have the important broadband connections they need for their educational, professional and personal lives.

Stephanie currently has three sponsees from within the company who she mentors as part of a program committed to supporting employees from diverse backgrounds – among her extensive mentorship work. She also serves as the Comcast’s Northeast Division executive champion for the company’s Women’s Network Employee Resource Group where she is helping to develop the next generation of Comcast’s women leaders. 

In addition to the advocacy she does at Comcast, Stephanie volunteers regularly in her community, orienting her efforts towards children and family and equity and diversity needs. “One of the mottos I live my life by is: ‘To whom much is given, much is expected,’” Stephanie says. “While I was not born into a rich family or a connected family, I was born into a family that was rich in love and connected to community. My parents modeled community service.”

Stephanie has a long history of volunteerism and serves on numerous boards: The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Works, which helps create jobs opportunities for teens and families who are unemployed or underemployed and the African American Museum of
Philadelphia, to name a few.

Point of Pride

In the wake of COVID-19, when students and families were sent home to work and learn, Stephanie took the lead role on behalf of Comcast to stand up PHLConnectED: A partnership between the City of Philadelphia, School District of Philadelphia, and business and civic leaders to connect K-12 public school students to the internet at no cost to them, many of whom through Comcast’s Internet Essentials service. In three years, PHLConnectED enabled more than 23,100 free Internet connections.

“Comcast has been dedicated to tackling the digital divide for more than a decade, but we know that a problem as vast and complex as the digital divide requires all of us to work together. PHLConnectED is a shining example of the difference we can make in the community when we come together,” she says.
