Juneteenth-A Witness
Doreen Stratton brings history to life with her performance about Arugbo, an enslaved young woman who witnesses the arrival of Juneteenth in Galveston, Texas in June 1865—two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
A third-generation Doylestown resident and published writer, Ms. Stratton has presented to over fifty organizations, schools, and houses of worship, making this a not-to-miss event presented free to the public by the Doylestown Historical Society and Friends of the Doylestown Library—arrive early, as seating is limited.
