Bucks County Free Library with Kids

Whether you’re just getting into the parenting game or you’re already a seasoned pro, the Bucks County Free Library’s children’s services department has everything you need to support and connect with your kids. From toddler storytimes to teen art workshops, they cover all the bases and then some.
A quick search on the Bucks County Free Library’s website’s catalog system can help you find a diverse range of book topics, including children’s books for all kinds of abilities. They also have an extensive selection of e-resources. Patrons can learn and explore anything from writing code with Code Combat to brushing up on their foreign language skills with Brainfuse.
Even the littles (ages 2 through 8) can learn with free access to ABCmouse, a popular app with more than 10,000 fun-filled activities. For older kids, there’s Beanstack, an app where they can track reading progress and complete fun challenges to earn Badge Squad badges.
“Need reliable information for your child’s school project? Try Power Kids. It’s a fantastic resource for elementary school students. You’ll find age-appropriate information about animals, art, geography, health, literature, science, social studies and technology,” said Abby C., the Yardley Branch Assistant Library Manager.
“For children, play is serious learning,” Fred Rogers said. The library must agree with the adorable Penn’s Little Village at the Langhorne Branch. The learning (and play) never stops. Featuring a preschool-sized neighborhood, this branch goes above and beyond to create a welcoming environment where the importance of play is explored and nurtured.
After you’re done playing and picking out your favorite books, take the kids to Central Park and let them read under the trees at Doylestown Kids Castle.
