Experience springtime on a colonial farm with a visit to a historic site that brings the past to life! Visitors can watch as farmers shear sheep in preparation for the warm weather, then follow the “wool to wardrobe” process with living historians demonstrating spinning, weaving, and other textile crafts. As they tour the historic house, guests will learn about the various activities that went into running an 18th-century farm. The open-hearth cooking demonstration in the Summer Kitchen offers a chance to explore the sights and smells of colonial food preparation. Attendees can also stop by demonstrators’ stalls to learn about essential crafts like woodworking, sewing, candle-dipping, and more. Be sure to visit the Museum Shop for historically-inspired gifts for all ages.
