Perkasie Borough is delighted to announce its cherished annual celebration: America’s Oldest Tree Lighting, a holiday tradition that first illuminated the town in 1909, and which in 2015 was officially recognized in the U.S. Congressional Record.
This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with the tree-lighting moment at 7:00 PM, when Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will arrive via a Perkasie Electric truck and at least one child will be invited on stage to help light the tree.
Attendees can look forward to:
Holiday music, carolers, and live performances including excerpts from The Nutcracker at 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
Horse & carriage and antique wagon rides, stilt-walkers, wandering carolers, and window displays in the historic town center.
A train-display by the Perkasie Model Railroad Club, food trucks, shopping specials, and interactive photo-ops with Santa and the elves
