Juneteenth Celebration Event at Gather Place

The Gather Place Museumwill host an inspiring Juneteenth celebration. The event commemorates June 19, 1865—the day freedom finally reached enslaved African Americans in Texas, years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Attendees will experience powerful storytelling, first-person portrayals, and engaging discussions that bring this pivotal moment in history to life. The program highlights the significance of Juneteenth, the struggle for delayed justice, and its enduring impact on the ongoing fight for equality. The lecture will conclude with a Q&A session, encouraging audience participation.
